5 Travel Essentials

Let’s be honest, some of this might sound like common sense… but sometimes common sense is exactly what people need. When you’re packing for a trip, rushing out the door, or trying to remember a million little things, it helps to have a simple checklist.

So here are 5 travel essentials I always think about before a trip:

1. ID/Passport. Duh.
This one is obvious, but it has to be said. Your ID or passport is the one thing you really cannot forget. If you’re travelling internationally, make sure your passport is valid and easy to access. If it’s a local trip, double check that you have the right ID with you before leaving. Out of everything you pack, this should be the first thing you check.

2. Phone + Essentials
Your phone is basically your lifeline when you travel. It has your boarding pass, hotel confirmations, maps, camera, and everything else you need. Make sure you also pack your headphones and chargers. A portable charger is even better if you have one, because a dead phone while travelling is the last thing you want.

3. Adapter
This is something people forget all the time. If you’re travelling somewhere new, check what kind of plug your destination uses before you go. Not every country has the same outlets, and you do not want to land somewhere and realize you can’t charge any of your devices. It takes two minutes to check, and it can save you a lot of stress.

4. Snacks
Airport snacks are overpriced, limited, and usually not even that good. I always think it’s smart to bring your own snacks so you’re not stuck paying way too much when you get hungry. Sometimes I’ll even pack a small meal if I can. It just makes the travel day easier, especially if there are delays or the food options aren’t great. TIP: Pack something sweet and something salty.

5. A great attitude
This one matters more than people think. Sometimes your plans do not go the way you want them to. Flights get delayed, things get messed up, and in the moment it can feel like your whole trip is ruined. But honestly, it’s usually just a reroute, not the end of the world. Don’t let one bad moment take away from the rest of your trip. Try to enjoy your time anyway and remember that everything happens for a reason. Later on, it’ll probably just be a funny memory.

Travel is always better when you’re prepared, but also when you know how to go with the flow. So yes, this may be common sense, but maybe some people need the reminder.

No matter how much one travels adaptor is something that can be forgotten easily. And only time to realise about this is just before the device is about to die.

Such a thoughtful point to be included in the list of required travel essentials.
